5th grade Parent Support Group Orientation 2025
March 26, 2025
On March 26, 2025, we were thrilled to welcome parents to the 5th Grade Parent Support Group Orientation hosted by Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service (SFCS). This event provided an insightful introduction to our Parent Support Group (PSG) program, where parents had the chance to learn about the incredible benefits of joining and how it can provide them with the support they need during this important time in their children's lives. Youth Outreach Workers shared valuable information about the Youth Services Project, detailing the services available in both the school environment and throughout the broader community to support youth and families. Parents also had the opportunity to meet current PSG participants, hear about their experiences, and ask any questions about the program.
The PSG program is designed to provide ongoing support for parents, foster peer connections, and offer resources to address the unique challenges of raising 5th graders. Topics covered in the program include improving communication, managing emotional development, and supporting children's social growth during this pivotal stage.
If you were unable to attend the orientation, we encourage you to watch the recorded session here and complete your registration by April 18, 2025. The first 5th Grade PSG session will be held in May.
For further inquiries or more information, please contact SFCS Assistant Director and PSG Coordinator, Maria Vilanova, LMFT, at mvilanova@sfcsinc.org.
We look forward to welcoming new participants and continuing our efforts to support families in the community!
