Thank you for your interest in Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service (SFCS). We are a nationally accredited, not-for-profit family counseling agency providing social, emotional, and professional mental health services to individuals living or working in the greater Scarsdale area.

Founded in 1920, SFCS evolved from the Scarsdale Women’s Club’s Scarsdale Community Service committee, which included a nursing service established fifteen years earlier. The agency was built on private donations, benefit parties, and a thrift shop. Today, SFCS is a vibrant organization offering mental health and preventative services to individuals from age 5 through the end of life. Our services are delivered through school and community-based programs as well as individual appointments.

SFCS helps families, couples, and individuals address challenges such as depression, anxiety, and life transitions like adolescence, divorce, and aging parents. We use a family systems approach, understanding the complex interactions within families. At SFCS, we believe healthy families are the cornerstone of a healthy community.
